Grace Church in Vineyard Haven offers a winter treat on Sunday, Jan. 4, from noon until 2 p.m. when they host a winter lobster roll luncheon.

To provide food, warmth and community during the long Vineyard winter, faith communities around the Island are once again offering free community suppers.

The tapas-style restaurant and bar opened two weeks ago at 11 North Water street with a changed interior but familiar owners. Siblings Nell, Will and Geoghan Coogan also own the Wharf Pub just around the corner.

Proceeds from a spaghetti dinner and silent auction this weekend will benefit Enrico Holley who was seriously injured in October from a fall.

The Oak Bluffs selectmen have approved the transfer of an all-alcohol license from Ronald and Margaret Jackson to Michael Santoro, a local restaurateur and a selectman. The Jacksons have owned and operated the Ocean View for more than three decades.

Island Grown Schools, the culinary arts program at the regional high school and 7a Foods are coming together to present a late fall garden feast featuring student chefs.
