The Islanders Talk Benevolent Fund will host a Kale Soup Throwdown on Sunday, April 19, at the P.A. Club in Oak Bluffs. The fund was created for Islanders to help Islanders.

After a brief period of uncertainty, Flatbread will again open for the upcoming season, though the restaurant is still on the market.

On Sunday, more than 100 people attended the annual Farmer’s Brunch in Chilmark, which focused on the controversies surrounding genetically modified organisms in the United States.

The restaurant at Chilmark’s Beach Plum Inn will open this May with a new head chef. Josh Aronie, who led the kitchen at the nearby Home Port Restaurant last summer, will oversee both restaurants this year.
