Ali Berlow founded the Island Grown Initiative a decade ago, wrote The Mobile Poultry Slaughterhouse and was the founding editor and is still the co-publisher of Edible Vineyard. Her most recent book, The Food Activist’s Handbook: Big & Small Things You Can Do to Help Provide Fresh, Healthy Food for Your Community, was published earlier this month.

Port Hunter returns to the Edgartown bar scene this weekend with acoustic rockers John Beninghof and Daniel Byrnes on Friday.

At the MV Wine Festival’s grand tasting event Saturday afternoon, Vineyard-based artists, restaurants and food vendors mingled with hundreds of wineries from around the world and proved compatible.

Tour a yogurt kitchen and cheese cave and then take a class in cooking with yogurt this Saturday from 10 am. to noon.

The raw bar will be hopping from 6 to 10 p.m. on May 9 at the Chilmark Community Center for the shellfish group spring fundraiser.
