Ruby, the oldest known goat on the Vineyard and a polarizing up-Island figure, was laid to rest on April 19 at age 20.

For over 40 years, at the beginning and end of summer, Bill Everdell has commuted between the Vineyard and Brooklyn by bicycle.

A pet goat named Raisin, who lived in Chilmark, died of pneumonia last Wednesday. He was a local and national celebrity, admired by his owner, Tom Ashe, the Island community, and a much wider audience.
