Welcome Daniel

Maria Magdelena Luna Alvarez and Jose Daniel Zuniga Lopez of Edgartown announce the birth of a son, Daniel Zuniga Luna, born on August 25, 2009, at the Martha’s Vineyard Hospital. Daniel weighed seven pounds at birth.

Happy 90th, Helen!

Helen Duarte turned 90 years old on July 15, 2009. On July 11, her daughter Shirley Fauteux hosted a family birthday party at her home in Falmouth. All of her three children attended, along with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. It was the first time she had met her grandson’s baby daughter, Madison Fauteux. It was a great surprise.

College Honors

On May 19, 2009, Sarah Greenberg graduated from Tufts University in Medford, Mass., earning a bachelor of arts degree in political science and communications, with Dean’s List and Cum Laude honors. She was hired by the energy division of the ICF International, a global professional services firm, which partners with government and commercial clients to deliver consulting services and technology solutions in energy, climate change, environment, transportation, social programs, health, defense and emergency management.

The Permanent Endowment for Martha’s Vineyard is accepting applications for its fall grant cycle. Through its grants program, the Endowment seeks to raise awareness of Vineyard issues, respond to community needs, foster collaboration among nonprofit organizations and support innovative approaches to bettering the quality of life on the Island.
