Francine and Jeffrey Agnoli of Edgartown are pleased to announce the birth of their granddaughter, Mia Grace Dunphy, on June 29 at South Shore Hospital, Weymouth, Mass.
Proud parents are Jona Dunphy, Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School, class of ’98, and her husband Thomas of East Bridgewater. Mia is welcomed by her loving big sisters Ava and McKenzie, and by paternal grandparents, Dianne and Tom Dunphy of Pembroke.
Welcome, Carter

On Friday, July 31, Wyatt Jenkinson will receive Mass Audubon’s James K. Whittemore Young Naturalist Award. The award is given to youths for excellence in environmental stewardship.

Please Adopt Us
The Animal Shelter of Martha’s Vineyard has a few nice animals that need good homes.
The shelter still has Sophie, a springer spaniel cross, very well house trained, spayed, with all her shots current. She needs to be in a home without cats.
There are two black kittens, still quite shy, but the staff is working with them to socialize them.
The latest edition of the Island Book phone books are now available. This year’s cover celebrates Vineyard lighthouses by student artists Erik Faber, Bella Maidoff, Franklin Pilcher, Derek Rogers, Jack Slayton and Peter Tennant.
Vineyard Herbs Award
Herbalist Holly Bellebuono of Vineyard Herbs was awarded third place at the 2009 International Herb Symposium at Wheaton College, Mass., in June for her medicinal salves. Ms. Bellebuono wild-harvests all of the herbs in her salves, which can be purchased at the West Tisbury Farmer’s Market or online atVineyardHerbs.com.
