Celebrations
The Martha’s Vineyard Cultural Council is calling for funding proposals from individuals, organizations and schools. Council grants are to support projects that enhance excellence, access, education and diversity in the arts, humanities and interpretative sciences, to improve the quality of life for all of the Island’s residents. This year’s grant applications are due Oct. 15.
Harvest Week
Massachusetts Harvest Week for students runs the week of Sept. 21 to 25. Our Island schools will be holding special events to highlight the exciting things happening, including local food taste tests, garden open houses, vegetable sales and more. Volunteers are needed. If you are interested in volunteering at Harvest Week events, e-mail [email protected].

Please Adopt Us
The Animal Shelter of Martha’s Vineyard sends out a huge thanks to all who contributed to sweet Susie’s medical care. She is a retired service dog who was in terrible condition when she came to us. She is doing well and getting lots of love and attention.
Amanda Wallas, who was recommended by the Rotary Club of Martha’s Vineyard, has won a scholarship award of $25,000 to spend one year abroad as a student and goodwill ambassador.
