Katherine Aleksandra Peachway and Joshua Samuel Dienstag, both of New York city, were married on June 12, 2010 at the Beach Plum Inn in Menemsha. Daniel Basov, justice of the peace, officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Dr. Valentina Peachway, of Brooklyn, N.Y. The bridegroom’s parents are Dr. and Mrs. Jules Dienstag, of Boston and West Tisbury.

The matron of honor was Vassilysa Basov. Best man was Jonathan Dienstag.

The reception was held at Farm Neck Golf Club in Oak Bluffs.

Seeking Food

Are you closing your summer house and have food left in your pantry? The Martha’s Vineyard Hebrew Center’s social action committee is once again collecting nonperishable food for the Island Food Pantry which is scheduled to reopen in mid-October. As discussion continues about cleanup and a still-incomplete investigation into the July 12 Menemsha fire, the Chilmark selectmen are set to meet with spokesmen for the U.S. Coast Guard on Tuesday evening.

As the Oct. 5 deadline for a state grant from the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners looms closer, the Edgartown Library Foundation is continuing full-speed ahead in their fund-raising efforts for a library expansion project. On Monday, the foundation will hold its second annual Frankly, We Love Our Library event at the Right Fork Diner of the Katama Airfield.

Car Wash

A car wash to raise money for the Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School girls’ soccer booster club will be Sunday, Sept. 5 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Performing Arts Center at the High School. Cost is $10 a car.
