William J. Milton 3rd of Mount Pleasant S.C. and Oak Bluffs, was recognized in an Eagle Scout Court of Honor on Dec. 8 at in North Charleston, S.C. William will be the 33rd Eagle Scout in Troop-469.

Only four per cent of scouts in the United States go on to achieve the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest rank in scouting.

Hello, Charley Jennifer and Carlton Woods of West Tisbury announce the birth of a daughter, Charley Mae Woods, born on Dec. 23 at the Martha’s Vineyard Hospital. Charley weighed 9 pounds, 2 ounces at birth.

A surprise proposal occurred at the Gay Head Lighthouse recently when Anthony DiMartino proposed to Megan Szewczuk. Anthony chose that special spot from having spent many summer vacations on the Island. Anthony is the nephew of Sally Rizzo of Vineyard Haven. The couple will marry in September of 2014 and hope to spend many seasons on the Vineyard.

Kelly Canning and Jason McAleavey of Edgartown announce the birth of a daughter, Fallon Aubrey McAleavey, born on Dec. 20 at the Martha’s Vineyard Hospital.
