Three baseball players from the Martha’s Vineyard Sharks were named to the Futures Collegiate Baseball League Post Season All-Stars: Shortstop Robbie Zinsmeister (Indiana University in Pennsylvania), designated hitter Jeramy Matos (University of Central Florida) and utility player Eric Jensen (Wheaton).

Living in the past isn’t the life that Steve Boyleston has always dreamed of. No, he wanted to be a rock star. “Still do,” he said with a laugh, “but the window of opportunity is closing.”

Instead, he has become a historical reenactor, bringing the history of backwoods rifleman Richard Boylston in to the present, both in his educational demonstrations, and in his daily life.

Class of 1966 45th Reunion

There will be a reunion for the Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School Class of 1966 on Saturday, Oct. 15 and Sunday, Oct. 16.

The P.A. Club will be the site for the Saturday gathering, which will start at 5:30 p.m., and will cost $40.

On Sunday, the group will have brunch at Farm Neck, starting at 10 a.m. The cost of the brunch will be $30. Costs include hall rental, taxes and tips.

Dell is launched: The catboat Dell was launched Saturday at Swan Neck Farm with the roar of the ocean in the background from the approaching tropical storm Irene. Dell, however, was hauled back out that evening. Dell is a 12 foot, 9 inch catboat that was a collaboration between Antonia Diaz, the designer, Charles Klink, the owner, and Marty Harris, the builder.
