Announcing Isabelle
Jillianne Cummings and Bryan Keats of Oak Bluffs announce the birth of a daughter, Isabelle Joyce Keats, born on June 25, 2012 at the Martha’s Vineyard Hospital. Isabelle weighed 8 pounds at birth.
Welcome, Christian
Bonnie Kingsbury and Frances Fisher III of Edgartown announce the birth of a son, Christian Elliot Fisher, born on June 22, 2012 at the Martha’s Vineyard Hospital. Christian weighed 7 pounds, 2 ounces at birth.
Dean’s List
Ella Barnette of Edgartown has been named to the dean’s list for the spring semester at Lasell College in Newton. Ella is a member of Lasell’s 2012 graduating class and majored in fashion and retail merchandising.
Katharine W. Clarke of Edgartown, daughter of John and Nancy Clarke, has been named to the dean’s list at Endicott College in Beverly for the spring 2012 semester. Katharine is a senior majoring in English.
Comcast Scholarship
Megan McHugh of Edgartown has been awarded a $1,000 scholarship from the Comcast Leaders and Achievers Scholarship Program. The award, bestowed upon 102 graduating high school seniors from across the state, recognizes students who display leadership skills, academic achievement and a commitment to community service.
Ms. McHugh traveled to the State House to accept the award at a ceremony attended by Lieut. Gov. Timothy Murray.
Nonprofit organizations on the Vineyard looking for volunteer help can now advertise their openings for free in the Vineyard Gazette.
This week the Gazette is introducing a new classified advertising category called Volunteer Opportunities, which will appear in both the print edition of the newspaper and online at mvgazette.com. Any tax-exempt charitable or arts organization wishing to advertise for unpaid help may do so without charge, said Jane Seagrave, publisher of the Gazette.
