Women Empowered Grant

Women Empowered, an Island nonprofit providing life skills coaching services for women, men and families struggling with financial challenges, presented its first monetary grant to another Island nonprofit. Felix Neck Wildlife Sanctuary was one of four grant applicants and was chosen to receive $3,000 to provide on-the-job training and a small salary for a visitor service assistant at Felix Neck.

The grant is made possible as a result of a donation to Women Empowered from Malcolm Jones, a West Tisbury resident.

“I’m actually looking forward to this,” she said. “It’s always an honor to have the President visit. I’m looking forward to doing what we’re supposed to do and getting it done.”
