The Vineyard community came to Chilmark Wednesday evening for Bette Carroll's 90th birthday celebration.
Singing, dancing, gymnastics, beat boxing, Tae Kwon Do, drums, harps, clarinets, piano; the list is long and so is the talent. Tonight, Feb. 1, the Oak Bluffs School is hosting its 15th annual student talent show. The evening runs from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
For the first time in a long time the Animal Shelter of Martha’s Vineyard has three adorable small dogs available for adoption with two more due into the shelter in a few days. At the shelter now are Jerry, a sweet brown and tan Chihuahua, who looks and acts a lot younger than his 13 years. He is a little afraid of young children, but he would make a wonderful watch dog and loves to curl up in a warm lap. His friend is Millie, an Italian greyhound/chihuahua mix. Millie comes with a complete set of fancy clothes, even pajamas, which she loves to wear.
Lauren Bagnall of Edgartown has been named to the dean’s list at Armstrong Atlantic State University in Savannah, Ga. for the fall 2012 semester. Laura is a senior majoring in health science.
Nicole Palacios and Myles Goodwin of Vineyard Haven announce the birth of a son, Marlin Samuel Palacios Goodwin, born on Jan. 23, 2013 at the Martha’s Vineyard Hospital. Marlin weighed 9 pounds, 6.2 ounces at birth.
Andria and Ateoni Otoni of Edgartown announce the birth of a son, Andrew Zotte Otoni, born on Jan. 25 at the Martha’s Vineyard Hospital. Andrew weighed 8 pounds, 1.6 ounces at birth.
