Kia Minor of Edgartown, a former basketball player at the Oak Bluffs School and the regional high school, was named a member of the 2012-2013 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Women’s Basketball All-Conference First Team last week. Kia, a senior at Framingham State University, is captain of the women’s basketball team. She has been chosen twice this year as the MASCAC Women’s Basketball Player of the Week, and is the eighth Framingham State women’s basketball player to pass 1,000 career points.
Valeryia and Michael Jackson of Edgartown announce the birth of a son, Henry Igor Jackson, born on March 22, 2013 at the Martha’s Vineyard Hospital. Henry weighed 7 pounds, 13.6 ounces at birth.
Karen and Derek Logan of Edgartown announce the birth of a daughter, Shiloh Louise Logan, born on March 18, 2013 at the Martha’s Vineyard Hospital. Shiloh weighed 7 pounds, 5 ounces at birth.
Darrell Moreis of Vineyard Haven and Siobhan Smith of West Tisbury have been named to the chancellor’s list, and Meghan Brown of Oak Bluffs and Luke Bettencourt of Edgartown have been named to the dean’s list at the University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth for the fall 2012 semester.

A 30-year-old Vineyard Haven man has been cited for leaving the scene of property/damage after crashing his car through a guardrail on Edgartown-Vineyard Haven Road last week and abandoning it in a ravine.
