The Fourth of July was truly glorious at the animal shelter. So many old and new friends joined our contingent to follow our float.
Every summer they come together not just to form a team and play baseball, but also to form a family. And a functional one at that. The Sharks opened their season with a string of victories, and are currently in second place in the Futures Collegiate Baseball League.
The Tisbury Street Fair is an annual event celebrating the town’s founding. This year Tisbury turned 344. Since the fair’s origins in 1971 to celebrate the town’s third centennial, the event has always been a time for everyone on the Island to come together for food, music and fun following the holiday festivities of the Fourth of July.
This Sunday, July 12, Union Chapel in Oak Bluffs will hold its annual Interfaith Sunday.
Last fall, Martha’s Vineyard officially became sister islands with St. Vincent and the Grenadines, a cluster of islands in the Caribbean.
The Reverends Vicky and Armen Hanjian have been appointed to serve the Chilmark Community Church as pastors for July and August.
