Revised Yellow House Plan Attracts Lone Bid
A sole applicant is in the running in Edgartown’s second search for someone to lease and renovate the Yellow House.
Military helicopters flew over the Island this week as the Vineyard prepared for what is becoming a familiar August event: the arrival Saturday of President Barack Obama for a summer vacation on the Island.
The National Weather Service has issued an advisory Wednesday for high surf and a high risk of dangerous rip currents along ocean beaches on the south coast of the Vineyard.
Each year more than 6,000 people are served by Martha’s Vineyard Community Services, the largest human service provider on the Island.
“I always think that number is so important,” said Sandy Pimentel, a member of the board of directors. “And they never turn people away.”
The Martha’s Vineyard Family Center has received a $310,000 grant from The Children’s Trust, a state family support organization.
The grant will be spread out over five years.
