Hob Knob, the boutique luxury hotel on Upper Main Street Edgartown, has been put up for sale for an undisclosed price.

Owner Maggie White said it is time to focus on her other Island ventures.

A Manchester man was charged with operating a motor boat under the influence after the boat he was operating went over a dock and crashed into the beach on Chappaquiddick, according to Edgartown police. The incident took place on Saturday evening.

Bay scallop season opened Wednesday in Edgartown for family permit holders, and Oak Bluffs will be quick to follow with a season that begins on Oct. 18. Commercial season opens later in October.

Increases in passenger fares and excursion rates for Island residents are among a set of proposed rate changes. But the boat line will now reconsider increasing the popular excursion fares, general manager Wayne Lamson said.
