The first live Island performance of Susan Klein and Alan Brigish’s online book, Martha’s Vineyard Now & Zen, will begin at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 14, at the Katharine Cornell Theatre in Vineyard Haven.

The Martha’s Vineyard Film Society hosts the performance in conjunction with the acclaimed Japanese film Still Walking. Storyteller Ms. Klein will present chapter one of Martha’s Vineyard Now & Zen, live, accompanied by a 10-minute slide show of Vineyard photographs curated by Alan Brigish.

Sting Rays Play Tisbury

A dance party featuring the Sting Rays playing live music is set for Nov. 14 from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Tisbury Senior Center in Vineyard Haven. Too shy to dance? There will also be an hors d’oeurves and drinks (non-alcoholic) table, and you can tap your toes without leaving your seat. All are welcome and there is no charge.

Vineyard Power, a community-owned cooperative that seeks to engage Islanders in reducing their energy rates through renewable energy generation, will be the subject of a community presentation and discussion at the Chilmark Free Public Library on Wednesday, Nov. 18, at 5:30 p.m.

Suzanne Slarsky Dael of the Vineyard Energy Project will speak as part of the library’s autumn lecture series.

The Martha’s Vineyard Mediation Program is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. To commemorate the milestone, we are hosting an event on Thursday, Nov. 19 at 1 p.m. at the Dukes County Court House in Edgartown.
