Kids Clothing Swap
This Saturday, Oct. 15, there is a free kids clothing and book swap at the West Tisbury School.
Stop by to browse the gently used clothing, shoes and books or if you have items to donate, drop them off. Most items are for kids from kindergarten to sixth grade.
The swap takes place at the school from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and is free.
Left over items will be donated to charity.
Short plays, like short stories, have never caught on with the popular culture to the extent to which they so richly deserve. And yet they offer such a better return, really, for the public’s entertainment dollar. More stories, more sets of characters, more writers, directors and all of the other creative elements that go into live theatre for the same single ticket price.
Class of 1966 Reunion
This weekend the Martha’s Vineyard Class of 1966 is gathering to celebrate their 45th reunion.
On Saturday, Oct. 15, the class will be gathering at 5:30 p.m. at the P.A. Club in Oak Bluffs. The cost for the evening is $40 per person.
On Sunday, Oct. 16, at 10 a.m. the party continues with a brunch at Farm Neck. The cost for this event is $30, which includes tax and tips.
For more information call Herb Ward at 508-693-7683.
Metabolic Boot Camp
Vineyarders, do not ask whether the metabolic boot camp wants you, rather ask whether your metabolism wants boot camp.
If that sounds a bit heavy on the system, what with all those boots stomping all over your cells, think again. This camp, hosted by Jan Buhrman and run by food expert John Bagnola, is designed to lighten the load on your system so you can take your body from feeling like an old Pinto wagon to a souped-up Bondmobile.
Halloween Costume Trade
Okay, so it was in the 80‘s this weekend, but that doesn’t mean that Halloween isn’t still around the corner. And for those with extra costumes lying around, or those with no ideas or materials to help the little ones scare the hair off Aunt Dot, the Oak Bluffs Library is setting up a costume swap.
Drop off your unwanted costume at the Oak Bluffs Public Library anytime before 6 p.m. on Oct. 21. And for every costume donated you get a ticket to the big swap on Oct. 22 from 10:30 to 3 p.m.
