Edgartown is going back to square one in its effort to lease out the so-called Yellow House on Main street amid concern about a shade tree on the property.

Paul Graf and Laurie Graf, trustees of Sparrow Lane Trust, purchased 11 Sparrow Lane in Edgartown from Thomas J. Gavin and Melissa B. Gavin for $750,000 on March 5.

The boutique hotel chain announced this week that it will operate The Richard at 104 Main street. The property was formerly The Point Way Inn.

The Martha’s Vineyard Land Bank has announced the acquisition of a 22.4-acre property in West Tisbury for $3 million.

If the full Martha’s Vineyard Commission approves, neighbors in West Tisbury can expect to bid farewell soon to the historic firehouse building on Old Courthouse Road.

The town of West Tisbury continues to await a decision from the Martha’s Vineyard Commission on whether they will be allowed to demolish an abandoned fire house on Old Courthouse Road to build affordable housing on the site.
