Frederick Francis Cournoyer, lovingly known as Freddie, died surrounded by his family on July 31 at his family home in Oak Bluffs. He was 89.
Abbie Austin Taylor died at the Henrietta Brewer House on Friday, August 1 after a valiant battle with dementia. Family, friends and caregivers were with her. She was 76 years old.
Margie DeVane died at home overnight on July 14. Her death followed a sharp decline over the past six months due to interstitial lung disease. She was 93. Many friends and family members were able to visit in the last months and weeks of her life.
James (Jay) Quentin Bonanno, 89, formerly of Saddle River, N.J. died on August 2 in Edgartown, following a long, courageous battle with cancer.
A celebration of life for Philip Hughes, 84, who died on July 11 and was the husband of Joan Hughes, will be held at the Sailing Camp Park, located on Barnes Road in Oak Bluffs, on Sunday, August 10 at 2 p.m.
Cynthia Jane Wayman died on July 17 at her home on Lambert‘s Cove Road.
Robert (Bob or Pop) Fresher died on July 20. With the tide at his back and stars to guide him, he set sail one final time.
Benjamin Lambert (Buzz) Hall, a lifelong Edgartown resident, died on May 29 at the Henrietta Brewer House in Vineyard Haven at age 90, following a courageous 25-year battle with epithelioid sarcoma.
Ency Fokos died on May 23 at her home in Chilmark. She was 87.
Cathy Sue Merrill, of Edgartown, died unexpectedly on Saturday, July 19 at her home. She was 68.
