MVC to Open New Hearing on Katama Meadows Subdivision

The Martha’s Vineyard Commission will open a new public hearing next week on revised plans for the Katama Meadows subdivision, after commissioners voted Thursday to accept the withdrawal of a previous application.

Wendy and Joe Guarino, Ronalee and Paul Corwin, and Richard Lewis are pleased to announce the engagement of their children, Richard Corwin and Ashley Guarino. A wedding is planned for summer, 2010.

Dickson-Morrison

Maura Dickson and Theran Morrison were married on Saturday, Sept. 6. The bride is the daughter of Robert and Annmarie Dickson of Vineyard Haven. The bridegroom is the son of Thomas and Rena Morrison of Oak Bluffs. The couple will reside in Shrewsbury.

Cohen-deRosset

Phyllis and Rich Kugler of West Tisbury are proud to announce the marriage of Phyllis’ daughter, Pia Meridith Cohen, to Andrew de Rosset Newlin. The beautiful wedding was held at Gedney Farm in the Berkshires on Oct. 18, with many Vineyarders attending.

Pia is also the daughter of Michael Cohen of New York, and Andrew is the son of John and Dorothy Newlin of Delaware.

Pia and Andrew reside in New York city and will be going on their honeymoon in January to Argentina.

Tracy Meyers, Nick Briggs Are Married at Menemsha

On Sept. 6 as Hurricane Hannah descended on the Vineyard, Tracy Meyers and Nicholas Briggs were married in Chilmark. The ceremony and reception took place at the same location overlooking Menemsha Harbor.

The bride is the daughter of William F. and Patricia Meyers of Darien, Conn., and Edgartown. The bridegroom is the son of A. Kirk Briggs and Mary Vivian of Vineyard Haven.

A February honeymoon is planned.

Primetime Puppies: Local Dogs, Kids to Star on Cable Television

Animal Planet takes viewers on wildlife adventures around the world, from the Himalayas to the jungles of Borneo. Tomorrow — Nov. 29 — the cable channel’s popular Dogs 101 program will take them to Oak Bluffs. At the center of the segment are Paul Buckley and Russell Shapiro, two sixth graders at the Oak Bluffs School who will share the screen with a show of adorable Soft-Coated Wheaten Terriers.

Wendy Francis and Donald Ward of Edgartown announce the engagement of their daughter, Sarah Francis to David Henry of Clearwater Beach, Fla. David is the son of Maureen Henry of Brick Township, N.J., and Michael Henry of Clearwater Beach, Fla. An October 2009 wedding is planned.
