Free Holiday Rooms

The Holiday Inn in Falmouth will be offering free rooms during the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays for families with relatives who are hospitalized at the Falmouth Hospital.

The complimentary guest rooms will be available from Wednesday, Nov. 25 through Friday, Nov. 27 and Tuesday, Dec. 22th through Saturday, Dec. 26.

School children on Martha’s Vineyard will begin receiving inoculations against swine flu next week, with the first three clinics set for Monday, Nov. 9.

The clinics will be for students at the Chilmark, West Tisbury and Martha’s Vineyard Public Charter Schools.

The respective schools now are in the process of notifying parents and sending out permission forms.

West Tisbury selectmen on Wednesday authorized an application to the town community preservation committee for $25,000 to perform several tests of the Mill Pond, the historic manmade pond that graces the entrance to town on the Edgartown-West Tisbury Road.

Although the vote was unanimous, it was not without dissent.
