Savor the Sweetness

This Valentine’s Day, Jane Norton invites Island couples to Savor the Sweetness, a combination of partner yoga, chocolate tasting and benefit for organizations working against child labor in the chocolate industry. Ms. Norton will lead the Anusara-inspired yoga session at the Split Rock Athletic Center on State Road in West Tisbury, across from Martha’s Vineyard Savings Bank from 2 to 5 p.m. The cost is $50 per couple, and space is limited. Women Voters Party

Party like its 1920! The League of Women Voters celebrates 90 years of service with a birthday party at Zephrus restaurant on Main street in Vineyard Haven on Monday, Feb. 15. The party is a fundraiser for the local league, as well as a time to enjoy friends. Call 508-693-3416 to make a reservation for anytime between 5 and 9 p.m. Bring your own adult beverages. Zephrus will be open to the public during the party; the league will collect 20 per cent of the event’s gross profits.

Caribbean Night Dance

Drag that summer wardrobe out from under the bed and get on your flip-flops, because this Saturday, Feb. 13, is Caribbean Night at the Chilmark Community Center from 6:30 to 11 p.m. The Smokin’ Flamingos will provide the music for the evening, while partygoers enjoy dancing, beer, wine and dessert. Raffles and auctions, both live and silent, add to the fun. Admission is $15, and all proceeds benefit the Chilmark School.

The Animal Shelter of Martha’s Vineyard has a few nice animals who need good homes.
