It’s summer on Martha’s Vineyard and for most people this means vacation. Sun, fun and, hopefully, relaxation. But while life does need a vacation, there is another aspect of our existence that does not take a vacation. Death.
Antiques Auction
Antiques lovers may preview a midsummer auction from 1 p.m . on Saturday, August 7, at the Grange Hall on State Road in West Tisbury. A wine and cheese reception begins at 5 p.m. as part of the Fine Antique, Marine and Estate Auction with items from estates on Island and all up and down the East Coast.

To Speak at Union Chapel

Some Islanders may have noticed a strange breed of three-wheeled mini-cars stationed along Lake avenue in the heart of Oak Bluffs this summer. They may have also noticed that the vehicles haven’t budged much from their current parking spaces. And Oak Bluffs town officials say it is likely to stay that way.
