In response to an unanticipated surge in enrollment, the Edgartown School will add another kindergarten class this fall.
There are currently 46 students signed up for kindergarten, and more could register before September, said principal John Stevens in his petition for selectmen support at their weekly meeting Monday.
Joshua Baker, of Vineyard Haven, was awarded a bachelor’s of science degree in mechanical engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute in May 2014.
Alexandra Flake, of Vineyard Haven, graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s of science degree from Union College in Schenectady, N.Y.
Jacob N. Ferry received a bachelor of arts degree in philosophy and psychology from Boston University in May 2014.
The following students were named to the dean’s list at Boston University for the spring 2014 semester: Anna B. Hughes and Mariah P. MacKenzie of West Tisbury, and Jill M. McHugh and Harrison G. Meacham of Edgartown.
After a seven-day stay on Martha’s Vineyard, the whaling ship Charles W. Morgan departed from Vineyard Haven harbor Wednesday morning for the next leg of her historic voyage. A crowd gathered at West Chop as people tried to get a last look.
