At a time in their lives when most couples are weighing options for retirement, Tom and Dianne Wilson gave up their jobs and made a three-year commitment to missionary work in El Salvador. The Wilsons lived on the VIneyard for 17 years and found their inspiration for missionary work here.

Edgartown fire personnel quickly extinguished an early afternoon house fire on Dunes Road in Katama that was likely caused by mulch, according to the fire chief. There was nobody at the home at the time of the fire.

The Martha’s Vineyard Commission voted 10-3 Thursday in favor of a 3,920-square-foot expansion of the Alliance Community Church in Oak Bluffs. This puts to an end the church's long fight for an expansion, which brought out fierce opposition from abutters.
