The Citizen’s Committee To Save The Lake Tashmoo View gathered at the Tashmoo Overlook Wednesday morning.

The 24-hour bird-a-thon competition starts at 6 p.m. on Friday, May 15, and runs through 6 p.m. on Saturday, May 16.

Frank Rapoza, the West Tisbury artist and boat builder, started producing wampum mosaics in 2012. The intricate pieces, made with shells, ebony from a shipwreck, and even a swordfish bill, depict Island scenery.
