Receives Culinary Degree
Brittany Andelin-Baker of Vineyard Haven earned her bachelor’s degree in culinary arts management from The Culinary Institute of America on Nov. 7, 2008. Brittany is a 2005 graduate of the Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School.
Welcome Laila
Laila Elizabeth Branca was born at 10:42 a.m. on Feb. 16 at the Martha’s Vineyard Hospital. She weighed 7 pounds, 10 ounces and was 20 inches long at birth. The happy parents are Kerry and Bobby Branca of Edgartown. The proud grandparents are Elizabeth Branca of Canton, Mike and Sandy Joyce, and Ray and Annie Long, all of Edgartown.
Announcing Arjuna
Nicole DerManelian and Mark Begle of Vineyard Haven announce the birth of a daughter, Arjuna DerManelian Begle, born on Feb. 7, 2009, at the Martha’s Vineyard Hospital. Arjuna weighed 7 pounds, 10.6 ounces at birth.
The Martha’s Vineyard Agricultural Society has issued a call for applicants for their annual grant program. Eligible are all farm related individuals or organizations whose goal is to improve the quality of life and contribute to the sustainability of the Martha’s Vineyard agricultural community.
Dean’s List
Tara Reynolds of Edgartown was named to the dean’s list at the Savannah College of Art and Design in Savannah, Ga., for fall quarter 2008. She is an illustration major.
Bridge Tourney Winners
Gail Farrish of Edgartown and David Donald of Vineyard Haven recently finished first at the Eastern Massachusetts Bridge Association sectional tournament. They won the stratified pairs event at the holiday sectional in Watertown.
