Emilly and Thiago Chaves of Oak Bluffs announce the birth of a son, Bianca Alves Chaves, born on August 27 at the Martha’s Vineyard Hospital. Bianca weighed 6 pounds, 6.5 ounces at birth.

Lisa and Jason Gruner of Edgartown announce the birth of a daughter, Ella Sea Gruner, born on August 23, 2012 at the Martha’s Vineyard Hospital. Ella weighed 5 pounds, 15.5 ounces at birth.

Amanda Filley and Marco Canora of Chappaquiddick announce the birth of a daughter, Zadie Moira Canora, born on August 22 at the Martha’s Vineyard Hospital. Zadie weighed 7 pounds, 3 ounces at birth. She joins her big sister Stella.

Laura Kimball of Oak Bluffs and Bonita Springs, Fla. has been named to the dean’s list at Eckerd College for the spring 2012 semester. Ms. Kimball is majoring in interdisciplinary arts .

Melissa and Max Hart announce the birth of a daughter, Hazel Jane Hart, born on July 25, 2012. Hazel weighed 7 pounds, 11 ounces at birth. Hazel is the granddaughter of Pam Carelli of Vineyard Haven and Fred Carelli of Hannibal, Missouri and the late Stan Hart of Chilmark and Maria Look Hart of Woodbury, Conn.

Solvig Sayre of Vineyard Haven has been named to the dean’s list at Eckerd College for the spring 2012 semester. Ms. Sayre is majoring in international relations/global affairs.
