Tea Talk
Tea is good for you. Tea tastes good. But have you ever thought about making it yourself? And we’re not talking about dipping a bag in a cup of hot water here.
On Tuesday, July 10, Holly Bellebuono of Vineyard Herbs is heading to Polly Hill Arboretum in West Tisbury to teach the art of tea blending. Sample some of her teas while learning the secrets of which herbs can help your aching tummy, cure insomnia or stop the flu.
The talk is from 1 to 3 p.m.
Wendy Chabot of Vineyard Mind-Body Medicine has added health and wellness coaching to her list of available services.
Dr. Chabot recently completed training with Wellcoaches School of Coaching in order to offer the program. Sessions are available by telephone or in person at Dr. Chabot’s office at 15 R Church Street in Vineyard Haven. For more information or to schedule an appointment, contact Dr. Chabot at Vineyard Mind-Body Medicine at 508-687-9505 or visit vineyardmindbodymed.com.
Island Health Care
Elizabeth A. Moriarty, nurse practitioner, and Dr. Richard F. Sullivan have joined the Island Health Care rural health clinic in Edgartown.
Ms. Moriarty started in May, coming from Hampden County Physician Associates in western Massachusetts. Dr. Sullivan takes over as Medical Director for Dr. John Lamb, who served in that capacity for over five years and will now be operating solely out of his practice at the Martha’s Vineyard Hospital.
The Wellfest 2012 Raffle, A Year of Wellness, has been extended to July 9, 2012.
Holly Bellebuono is well known for the informative workshops and walks she leads on the Vineyard, educating people about herbs both native and cultivated, and how to use them in various ways.
Vineyard residents pride themselves on being tough. They brave cold, barren winters, prohibitively high gas prices and interminable summer crowds.
But those Islanders battling cancer are among the hardiest. They face high medical costs, uncomfortable ferry rides and long, painful drives to oncologists and radiation centers. Cancer engages them in emotional, physical and financial struggles each day.
