Former Secretary of State John F. Kerry has bought an 18.5-acre waterfront property at Seven Gates Farm for $11.75 million.

The pioneering Vineyard art dealer who cofounded the Granary Gallery in West Tisbury, died Feb. 26. He traced his roots to some of the Island’s oldest families.
