If my dad could see what I did in my snow-covered driveway, he would roll over in his grave.

I’m mighty fond of a stay-indoors-all-day blizzard, especially when there is no loss of electricity. I prepared for the worst and was pleasantly surprised.

The weather this winter is constant conversation material — in the single digits one day and near 50 the next. It sure beats last year’s almost weekly blizzards.

Brrr . . . downright chilly last week. Good thing I’m a hardy type and don’t mind wearing several layers. I rarely, if ever, stay indoors for an entire day.

Here we are! The start of another brand new year. Now is the time in the garden year to plan, order seeds and wax eternally hopeful.

This week between Christmas and New Year’s might be my favorite time of the year. All the crazy preparations of Christmas are behind us. The New Year looms fresh ahead with no foreseeable problems of its own.
