When it comes to sheer size, this is probably the biggest news on the Martha’s Vineyard gallery scene: David Phelps’s Pastoral Dreamer has left the plaza in front of Edgartown’s Eisenhauer Gallery.

Art is in the air this weekend as galleries all over the Island open their doors for the new season.

The Yard begins their summer shows at the Chilmark campus on June 9 with its annual Schonberg Fellows Residency.

More than 100 Island artists have transformed the Francine Kelly Gallery at Featherstone into a virtual garden of botanical images for the Art of Flowers show.

Vineyard Haven painter Donna Straw has a new muse. The metallic colors and sharp lines of structures in her past work are out, replaced with muted grays. Her show opens this afternoon at the West Tisbury Library.
