At this moment, all over the Vineyard, 40 people each have a different metal puzzle piece that bears part of a painting. On Sunday, they will meet at the Field Gallery in West Tisbury to assemble the pieces and reveal the full painting by Island artist Traeger di Pietro.

The exhibit, called “Whatever the Outcome,” was the brainchild of Craig Minor, a teacher at the Martha’s Vineyard Public Charter School. Following his interest in “lowbrow” and underground art, Mr.

Island-based PeaceQuilts supports women’s quilting cooperatives in Haiti, which gives the women an opportunity to earn their way out of poverty. There are 100 women organized throughout Haiti and at various levels of training who work through PeaceQuilts. Organizers found out recently that many of the women and girls walk hours a day to participate in the quilting project.

Dinosaurs and sharks mingled nicely with live ducks and a baby goat at Saturday’s Sense of Wonder creations art show in Vineyard Haven. The dinosaur and shark were a couple of papier mache creations completed by young campers who attend the after-school program at Sense of Wonder. The ducks seemed right at home in a tub of water in the backyard. Music, face painting and a bean bag toss shared the space.

A Nike Air Jordan sneaker lay sopping wet on a table in the flower studio at Tea Lane Farm on Tuesday. Flower artist Ellie Wetherbee had just finished carving the green floral foam into the shape of the old school sneaker and soaked it before she began to add flowers to the shape.

“It’s like carving a big block of cheese,” she said as she carefully scraped away the final shape of the shoe.

More than 150 framed photographs of the Vineyard will be available at the silent auction taking place at the Martha’s Vineyard Hebrew Center, 130 Center street in Vineyard Haven on June 23 from noon to 4 p.m. Photos are by Aaron and Frayda Galvin. There will also be a “buy it now” option.
