Officials are urging residents to come to Sept. 16 town meeting so the town can handle the short, but important, warrant.

Tisbury’s select board has approved a dozen draft articles for the Sept. 30 special town meeting warrant, which the board will finalize at its Sept. 2 meeting.

West Tisbury will hold a special town meeting next month to deal with several fund transfers, including one that would take money away from long-delayed plans to renovate the Howes House. 

West Tisbury voters gave the initial green light for a $1.6 million override and a $200,000 debt exclusion at the annual town meeting Tuesday. Both will also have to be approved at the town election on Thursday.

Voters in Edgartown Tuesday dedicated millions of dollars for the new playgrounds and fields, as well as upgrades to the town's sewer system.

Edgartown, Oak Bluffs and West Tisbury all voted Tuesday to phase out the use of gas-powered leaf blowers by 2028 in order to cut down on noise and emissions.
