The Newes from America pub in Edgartown was closed Thursday after firefighters responded to a small fire that ignited in a clothes dryer at the downtown restaurant.
Let the wooden nickel collecting begin: the Newes from America Pub in Edgartown officially reopened on Friday, Sept. 2 after being closed since June because of a plumbing incident.
A plumbing failure will force the Newes of America pub in Edgartown to close until later this month while the owners make repairs on the historic building.
On Monday this week the Edgartown selectmen approved a liquor license transfer for the Kelley House, which includes the Newes from America, a pub at the corner of Kelley and North Water streets.
