Mikado to Reopen After Health Violations

Mikado Asian Bistro in Vineyard Haven will reopen Friday at 5 p.m. after being shut down by the Tisbury board of health Monday for failing a health inspection.

Drew Belsky, health agent for Tisbury, told the Gazette that the Main street Asian fusion restaurant was deemed fit to reopen by two inspectors who visited the establishment around 11 a.m. Friday.

“[Mikado] had all documents in order, including all required food handling certifications, and [agents] found that the building was clean to their [satisfaction], so they are allowing them to open tonight,” he said.

Mikado Asian Bistro will begin hosting a jazz lounge on Saturdays, beginning March 24, from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
