Rev. Mark Winters preached his first sermon Sunday as the newly settled pastor of the Federated Church of Martha's Vineyard. The sermon, titled Seeing Jesus Differently, reflected on the story of Jesus’s Sermon on the Mount.

Last month, the Mayhew Parsonage in Edgartown went up for sale for the first time in its 200-year history. This Saturday, the contents of its attic go up for sale too.

The next settled pastor of the Federated Church in Edgartown is the Rev. Mark T. Winters, according to an announcement from the church.

After 65 years as a home for ministers from the Federated Church of Martha’s Vineyard, the Mayhew Parsonage on Edgartown Harbor is expected to pass into new hands within the next few months.

Members of the Federated Church in Edgartown voted Sunday to sell the Mayhew Parsonage on South Water street, capping a long planning process that began more than two years ago.

At its Oct. 31 service, the Edgartown Federated Church celebrated Peter Boak, its minister of music for 25 years.
