Three new coronavirus cases were reported by Martha’s Vineyard Hospital early Wednesday morning as an Island case surge that began early last week continues. TestMV reported a fourth case later in the day.

With Covid-19 cases climbing throughout the state, Gov. Charlie Baker Monday instituted a series of targeted new executive orders, including a mask requirement for all.

The Martha’s Vineyard Hospital and Island boards of health put out a joint statement Sunday, calling urgently for renewed vigilance and strict safety protocols.

Coronavirus cases continued to spike on the Vineyard and throughout the state, with the Island boards of health reporting an additional five new patients on Friday.
