Martha’s Vineyard Magazine is a finalist for the 2009 National City and Regional Magazine Awards in two categories: General Excellence and, for its Home & Garden magazine.

Magazine professionals from around the country judged close to 800 entries from 59 magazines, this week naming five finalists in 29 categories. Winners will be announced at the CRMA annual conference June 1 in New Orleans.

The Cape Cod Times will stop home delivery to subscribers on Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket after Sunday, April 5, member services director Robert Sypek confirmed yesterday.

The decision will affect about 250 paying customers, about 140 on the Vineyard. The Times will reimburse payments made on subscriptions scheduled to extend beyond the cutoff.

Oak Bluffs selectmen on Wednesday approved three ballot questions for voters in April — including one that would authorize $500,000 for dredging at Sengekontacket Pond — as well as the warrant for the annual town meeting, which calls for a balanced budget of $24.1 million among other things.

Announcing Zora

Mathea and Chioke Morais of Chilmark announce the birth of a daughter, Zora Safia Morais, born on March 3, 2009, at the Martha’s Vineyard Hospital. Zora weighed 7 pounds, 6 ounces at birth. She is also welcomed by her sisters Isabella and Delilah Quinones, who are in first and fourth grade, respectively, at the West Tisbury School.

Noelle and Nicholas Warburton of Oak Bluffs announce the birth of a daughter, Aubrey Noelle Warburton, born on March 7, 2009, at the Martha’s Vineyard Hospital. Aubrey weighed 8 pounds, 5.6 ounces at birth.
