Petar Petyoshin, who was arrested in May for stealing more than $21,000 from the Davis Straits Rockland Trust, was also given five years of supervised release by U.S. District Court judge Angel Kelly at his sentencing Monday. 

Rez Williams, an acclaimed Island artist known for his large-scale paintings of boats and his devotion to Island conservation, died in Boston on Sunday, Feb. 4. He was 81.

A recently released article about the Dukes County Wildfire Protection Plan looks to help people become more familiar with the potential for wildfires on-Island, and take appropriate measures to mitigate their impact.
