Clarification
In the story March 23 about the South Wood Farms foreclosure, the Gazette referred to Corey Kupersmith’s former business partner, Keith Crocco, who is named as the plaintiff in a lawsuit against Mr. Kupersmith. Mr. Crocco died in a motorcycle accident in 2009.
Correction
In a March 16 story about prescription drugs, Jill De La Hunt, the New Paths Recovery Program coordinator, was referred to as Leslie De La Hunt. In a March 23 story about the Island’s Vision Fellowship, Philippe Jordi’s first name was spelled incorrectly. The Gazette regrets the errors.
The Martha’s Vineyard Commission got its first look at the Edgartown National Bank’s ambitious plans to demolish the Oyster Bar, an Oak Bluffs restaurant, and build a three-story building in its place. On Monday, building plans presented to commissioners included a bank branch, two commercial units and four two-story townhouse condominiums at the Circuit avenue site of the former restaurant.
Tisbury residents will vote on a number of housekeeping items in a special town meeting to be held on Tuesday, April 3 at 7 p.m. in the Tisbury School Gymnasium.
Among the 15 articles, voters will be asked to borrow $200,000 for septic system upgrades, dispose of three town-owned automobiles and one boat, establish a trust fund for town employee retirement obligations, approve a sidewalk easement for the Martha’s Vineyard Museum’s new locaiton, and establish a fish committee to regulate herring fishing at Chappaquonsett Pond and Creek,
Tisbury town administrator John Bugbee has registered to vote in Fall River after his eligibility to vote in Island elections was questioned by a Tisbury resident.
Edgartown restaurant Il Tesoro at the Terrace is in danger of having its liquor license suspended.
The South Summer street restaurant, located inside the Charlotte Inn, was supposed to reopen by Feb. 5 following a short closure. As of now, it remains shuttered. Selectman Margaret Serpa said at an alcohol hearing Monday that if the restaurant was not reopened by Saturday, March 30, the selectmen would suspend the year-round alcohol license.
Il Tesoro owner A.J. Black did not attend the meeting.
