An Edgartown woman was arrested on drunken driving charges Tuesday after she was involved in a two-car crash in West Tisbury that sent two to the hospital with minor injuries, police said.
Jennifer Brown, 33, of Edgartown was headed south on State Road Tuesday just after 4 p.m. when she rear-ended a car driven by Joseph Spinelli, 72, West Tisbury police Cpl. Garrison Vieira said.

After more than an hour of debating whether the character of Menemsha would be forever changed, voters approved a harbor improvement plan for the fishing village at a special town meeting Monday night.

The final vote came after heavy discussion between opponents of the project who argued keeping the character of Menemsha relied heavily on its wooden aesthetic and proponents who said safety and durability were top priorities.

Chilmark Pond has been ordered closed to swimming until further notice following a routine water sample taken July 31 that revealed high levels of bacteria.
According to the state Bureau of Environmental Health, the water sample revealed 399 colony forming units (CFU) per 100 milliliters of water of enterococci bacteria. A subsequent sample taken on August 2 showed 2,014 CFU per 100 milliliters of water. The sample taken on August 2 coincided with rainfall, which is known to skew data.
