The fate of the Martha’s Vineyard Family Center surfaced again this week, with the center’s supporters urging the high school committee to consider ways to keep the center at the high school.

The high school, citing low enrollment numbers, has decided to phase out its early childhood vocational program. As a result, the family center will need to relocate by 2014.

Last month documentary filmmaker Len Morris of Vineyard Haven accepted the 2012 Iqbal Masih Award for the Elimination of Child Labor from the U.S. Department of Labor at a ceremony in Washington D.C. Full Moon Dance

Next Saturday, April 7, there will be a full moon dance party at The Anchors, located on Dock street in Edgartown. The party is a singles social for those fifty years old and over. Billed as a low-key social hangout, the idea is for it to occur monthly, in sync with the moon’s waxing. The party is from 5 to 7 p.m. and will include refreshments, music, games and dancing. There is no charge, but donations are accepted.

For more information, call Susan at 508-627-9627.
