Harry Seymour

Love, Truth, Hate

A child’s love / The truest of truth / Like pollen to flowers / Little bodies blossom / Where love blooms / Innocent and pure / Loving thy neighbor as thyself / Until they don’t / Where fertile ground / Let’s weeds grow too.

A child’s love

The truest of truth

Like pollen to flowers

Little bodies blossom

Where love blooms

Innocent and pure

Loving thy neighbor as thyself

Until they don’t

Where fertile ground

Let’s weeds grow too

Rooted deep

In generational lies

The progeny of hate

Love’s antagonistic mate

Bound together

As is night and day

In a shadowy dance

Children must navigate

Between truth’s light

And hate’s lies

Before the light

Of childhood fades

When love gives way

To adulthood’s fate

Unless remains

The child within

Who knows only love

Lives only truth

And knows no hate.

Another lesson learned from our MVI noted poet/artist that enhances the human condition for all to experience. Thanks for sharing

True words indeed. If we don’t stand for truth the world is lost. Well done Harry for a poignant poem.

As parents are job is never done. Our influence continues to shadow our children whether strongly or from a distance. The question is, is it fraught with lies, ingrained opinions, or done right hate where truth has been overcome by personal opinion and media frenzy. What happened to love one another? Is it gone forever or now part of the political spectrum

Harry Seymour's poetry requires readers to think and most importantly, to feel. His ethical considerations cast warm light on harsh subjects.
