Marie Allen Honored

Marie B. Allen of Oak Bluffs has received the Soaring High President Award for exceptional service as president of the Martha’s Vineyard Branch NAACP. The award was presented at the NAACP New England Area Conference’s 69th annual meeting held on Oct. 13 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Natick. Mrs. Allen accepted the award in memory of Mandred Henry, past president of the Martha’s Vineyard Branch NAACP, and in recognition of Mrs. Vera Shorter for her many years of devotion to the Martha’s Vineyard Branch NAACP.

Holly and Erik Bruguiere of Edgartown announce the birth of a daughter, Sydney Priscilla Bruguiere, on Oct. 29 at the Martha’s Vineyard Community Hospital. Sydney weighed 7 pounds, 15 ounces at birth.

Class of 1967 Slates Reunion

Dinner at Oyster Bar Grill

The Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School class of 1967 is planning its 40th anniversary reunion dinner at 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17 at the Oyster Bar Grill, Circuit avenue, Oak Bluffs.

The class has invited high school friends from 1963 through 1970 to join 1967 class members before or after dinner to listen to music and reminisce.

Molly Arrives

Amy and David Crawford of Edgartown announce the birth of a daughter, Molly Elisabeth Crawford, born Oct. 25 at the Martha’s Vineyard Community Hospital. She weighed 7 pounds, 15 ounces at birth. Molly joins big brother Jack, Island grandparents Sally and George Cohn of Edgartown and Tad and Judy Crawford of West Tisbury, and great-grandmother Sarah Isenberg of West Tisbury.

Receive Degrees

Two Vineyard residents have received degrees from Western New England College in Springfield.

Erik G. Blake of Oak Bluffs, who is the police chief in that town, received a bachelor of science in law enforcement degree with magna cum laude honors.

Margot N. Parrot of West Tisbury received a master of laws in estate planning and elder law degree.

Kyle Charles Cohagan

Mary-Ashley Lincoln married Kyle Charles Cohagan on July 14 at the Castle Hill Inn in Newport, R.I.

The bride is the daughter of Patricia J. Lincoln of Madison, Conn.

The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Dean Cohagan of Duxbury and of Greenville, S.C.

Peter Regan officiated.

The bride was given in marriage by her maternal uncle, Frank Rispoli Jr. of New Haven, Conn.

The maid of honor was Megan Crowe of Madison, Conn.
