Dean’s List

Hilary Dreyer, daughter of William and Stephanie Dreyer of West Tisbury, has been placed on the fall 2009 dean’s list at William Smith College.

Welcome, William

Heather and John Hoff of West Tisbury announce the birth of their son, William Michael Hoff, on April 6 at Brigham and Women’s in Boston. William weighed 7 pounds, 8 ounces. He joins his sisters Margaret and Elizabeth and brother John.

Affordable Housing

The bunny arrived just a little late at the Animal Shelter of Martha’s Vineyard to be adopted in time for Easter, but he is there in his own special roll-around cage; it’s a beauty and so is Romeo, white with striking black spots, a very unusual bunny.

Rabies Clinic

The annual rabies clinic for Island pets sponsored by the Animal Shelter of Martha’s Vineyard is Saturday, April 3. The cost is $15 and the vaccination is good for one year. The clinic will be held from 10 a.m. to noon at two locations: the Animal Shelter of Martha’s Vineyard in Edgartown (the old MSPCA) and in West Tisbury at the Public Safety Building on State Road. All dogs must be leashed and all cats and ferrets in carriers.

Beetlebung Reopens

Beetlebung Coffee House will reopen today, April 2, offering free drip coffee in the morning and 50 per cent off all panini at lunch.

Owner Renee Molinari closed Beetlebung this year for the first time in five winters. For spring, the coffee house will be open Wednesday through Monday (closed Tuesday) from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Our Island Club members receive 20 per cent off the cost of all regularly priced panini and apparel.
