Sandy Stone-Benjamin fell in love with dance in the third grade, and later went on to perform with the Paul Taylor Dance Company. Recently, she opened the Spindrift dance studio where she teaches modern dance, jazz, ballet and tap.

A Cape and Islands business association has named Holly Bellebuono as their entrepreneur of the year. Ms. Bellebuono, who owns Vineyard Herbs, Teas and Apothecary, is the first Vineyarder to receive the SCORE small business award.

Island taxi drivers appealed to local government this week to address Uber, a ride sharing service they said could dismantle their industry. A letter signed by 11 taxi drivers asked selectmen to “protect the public from unlicensed and unregulated taxis operating within Edgartown.”
