Repeated requests from the regional high school to spend unbudgeted funds have begun to raise eyebrows among some Island selectmen.

The Island Intervention Center that opened less than two years ago has already made inroads into mental health and substance abuse treatment on the Island.

In a small but joyful ceremony at the Oak Bluffs library Monday night, eight adult students graduated from a free, 10-week beginner English class. The library offered the course through grant funding.
